It was an early morning in new-leaf and the sun was shinning as bright as ever. A orange tom had settled down in a beautiful field covered with fresh blades of grass. Blaze stretched his body out to bask in the warm sunlight enjoying the warmth on his body. He closed his eyes and memories of his brother and father flooded his mind.
The amazing muscular jet black tom who he was proud to call his father, prowled the land as if he were king. So much power surged through his bones, and eventually passed on to his oldest son, first out of his mothers belly, Flash. Blaze could still see his calico fur, the mix of his fathers black pelt and his mothers orange and white swaying as the wind blew over him. Oh how Blaze wish he could smell the sweat scent of his kin again, he would do anything.

Sparkpaw had tried to go back to his clan, but he was once again avoiding ShadowClan. He was scared of not being accepted back in. He'd been gone for a long time, and there was no reason he wouldn't have come back yet. They'd ask him why, and he couldn't say he was in a coma for that long and then survived! That would be unrealistic. Even if he included the fact that he had to heal competely first, it would still be crazy. By now he'd be definately warrior aged, and he never completed his apprentice training, what if he couldn't keep up? And he didn't want to learn that his sister, Lightfur, was dead. He hadn't seen her for awhile, for all he knew, she could be. He was walking back from ShadowClan territories when he saw Blaze. "Hey..." He said, his sorrows found in the tone of his voice. no cat would take him as a threat. He knew that the longer he waited, the harder it'd be, but he couldn't do it. Every time he wussed out, he got more depressed.

The sudden rang of a cats voice shot Blaze's eyes open, scaring him half to death. The pictures of his brother and father slowly faded in his head, and the tom just started to realize he was back in the open field. Standing up his amber gaze went to the cat that had stirred him from his day dreaming. Noticing the long haired light orange tom he knew exactly who the tom was.
"Sparkpaw...Hi" he stammered at first but them calmed himself. "You scared me. Whats wrong?" he asked curiously. Blaze noticed that Sparkpaw always looked down in the dumps, every time he saw the cat he just appeared worse. Blaze always wondered what made Sparkpaw so depressed.

"Aw, nothing..." He replied to Blaze. "Nothing new at least..." That was the truth. Ever since he had healed from that horrible day when he was an apprentice, he'd tried to come back but was scared of what he'd find. "What were you doing?" he asked, his tone was still more dark then happy.

Sparkpaw nodded. "Yeah... I guess you could say that I was thinking of my sister..." He replied. He had been mostly thinking of his sister, but he also thought about his friends back in the clan. "So what were you thinking about them?"

Blaze nodded his head understanding Sparkpaw's situation. "I..I was thinking about my father and brother, they died awhile ago" the tom meowed looking down at the ground. Sadness filled up inside him at the mentioning of there death. Blaze couldn't help it, no matter how strong he tried to be, mentioning them could never stop the emotions that built up inside him.

Sparkpaw sighed, noticing Blaze's grief for his father and brother. "Oh..." He couldn't really think of anything else to say that would actually do good.
